Erica was our very enthusistic The Sound of Music tour guide, posing for photos at the gnome garden and relentlessly seeking out the cleverly hidden glass gazebo:
As a bonus, she serenaded us with the films catchy songs the entire day. And right now, at midnight, she's watch the movie and joyfully reliving the day's experiences. "Look at that, we were right there!"

And on top of all that, we found a nice playground where the kids could burn off some energy:

Tomorrow we'll leave Salzburg around mid-day and start a scenic drive to Hofkirchen, the site of the event. AND we made a very exciting "culinary" discovery today that we plan to explore on our way out of town - it will come as no surprise to anyone who followed our travels to Japan.
For those who just want to read about ballooning, don't worry. There will be plenty of that in a few days.

Did anyone cry as Erica sang "Edelweiss" or did she just stick to the smoozy stuff like "Do-Re-Mi" and "My Favorite Things"?
And....why was Paul holding himself on the swing??????
glad you all are having a great time. The Sound of Music was just on t.v. I watched it. You didn't get Erica dancing around the gazebo with Paul? Have fun good luck
I think Erica pretty much covered everything, but she was so disappointed in not being able to go in the gazebo that she didn't think to dance around it. Another funny thing: There was a group from Tennessee at the gazebo when we got there.
